Vibram 5 Fingers KSO

Vibram 5 Fingers KSO: The Real ‘Shoe’ in the Vibram Stable!

When Vibram brought 5 fingered shoes in the market, people couldn’t stop having a piece of the shoe and close to a century after it was conceived of, the world is in awe of the shoe. There are many shoes in the Vibram stable but the ‘newest’ of the lot is the Vibram 5 Fingers KSO. Shoe enthusiasts who bought the Vibram 5 Finger shoes often complained that the shoes had one major problem that needed to be urgently attended to. The problem (complaint) was that though the shoe covered the sole of the feet, it really covered quite less of top of the feet – it made the feet dirtier than the normal (standard) shoe.

With the kind of shoe technology Vibram was into, it could only hope to survive the complaint and it hushed its critics again after the reliable KSO was brought out. The KSO is the most versatile of all the shoes Vibram has under its banner.

A fusion of sandal, shoe and sole technology

The addition that Vibram made to this range of shoes was that, it covered the foot wholly and also added a Velcro strap on the top. It was a nifty addition considering the fact that laces are not a part of the shoe. Vibram has kept the motto of the ‘simple’ shoe intact by not adding any ‘extra’ part in the shoes like laces and similar stuff.

The material is made from the leather of one of unlikeliest of animals – the kangaroo. Kangaroo leather is supposed to be very soft, light and stretchable. Addition of further expanding, light materials like latex only make it thinner and stronger to say the least. Like the midship in an automobile, the midsole of the KSO have been strengthened with EVA plating to resist any cuts and abrasion that may arise from rough usage. That straightaway translates to a shoe that can be worn anywhere! It does not matter whether you’re swimming or running, Vibram 5 Fingers KSO shoes are the ideal for any place.

One of the most amazing features of the KSO shoes is that the shoe keeps your feet in a perfect temperature. Maybe it is because of the kangaroo leather that has been extensively used – the foot remains warm in cold conditions and cool in hot climates. Therefore you need not to worry about a desert or an ice trek!
